The Anjea Slog
The Anjea Slog – September 15, 2022, 9:25 AM UTC
This is a collection of my observations on life as we all whirl through the universe on this speck of dust and dampness we call Earth. It is a mix of stories, philosophy, adventure and anything else I find interesting, and is inspired by the amusement, amazement and wonder I feel on the day after, when I realize I have once again, despite all my mistakes, limitations, and miscalculations, survived the day before. Enjoy.
By the way, if a blog is a contraction of web log, then a slog is a sailing log. It is also a portmanteau word in that sailing to windward often is a real slog in the more accepted sense, and sometimes in sailing, as in the rest of our lives, we have to do the hard yards.
- The Offer – . Making the first offer was easy. I just thought of a price...
- The Survey – . This boat is everything I anticipated, good and bad...
- The First Time Solo – . Taking the boat out for the first time.
- On the Way West – . We are travelling west across the bottom of Tasmania...
- Tripping With the Maasai – . Tears stream down my face. I fall behind the others and find a comfortable rock to sit and give myself some time and space. It is as if someone has slipped LSD in my water.
- AML – . Black, black, black exhaustion, darkness, nothing.
- South Africa, Take Two – . Tradgedy, hope
